This course will introduce the nuts and bolts of blogging as an effective ministry tool. The students will learn to set up a self-hosted WordPress blog, choose a niche audience, maintain a blogging schedule, apply creativity to repurposing content, write for search engine optimization (SEO), set up and grow an email list, learn tips and tools to maximize productivity, utilize Google Analytics, and implement an effective social media strategy. The course will also discuss the balance of promotion, monetization, and motives in the context of a blogging ministry.

Dr. Stiles, I’m excited to see that you will be teaching the Blogging for Ministry class again this winter. The material I learned from this class has been invaluable and goes well beyond blogging. We were able to interview well-known writers, bloggers, and speakers. You’ve shared your online resources, and provided tips and tools so we could grow a social medial following and successfully maintain a blog site.
The class is challenging; however, your patience, encouragement, and teaching style revealed that you are deeply invested in your students. I appreciate you generously providing your wealth of knowledge to students at Dallas Seminary. This class remains one of my top electives I’ve taken at DTS. It’s because of this class that I’ve learned how to make a greater global ministry impact.

    • Thanks so much, Angela! It was an honor to have you in class; you did a great job. Thank you for your gracious words. God bless.
